Churches Together in Brighton & Hove (CTBH)
CTBH is an umbrella group for churches, all of which are involved in voluntary sector activities. There are approximately 110 churches in the city and 9 neighbourhood based Churches Together groups including Churches Together in Kemptown and Central Brighton to which Dorset Gardens Methodist Church is a member. In addition there is an active network of evangelical churches in the city which includes many churches that are not part of neighbourhood Churches Together groups for a variety of reasons.
In order to ensure that across the city as a whole, there is a conduit for communication and a basis for representing the churches, a network was established in 2006, known as ‘The Hub’. The members of the hub include a representative from each of the neighbourhood ecumenical groups along with the evangelical alliance.
The Hub is intended primarily to:-
-   Engage with civic bodies (Council, Health, Police etc) and the media.
-   To encourage city wide relationships to develop and deepen throughout the   Christian churches and to other parts of ‘civil society’ such as other faith groups,   the voluntary sector and businesses.
-   Communicate and where appropriate coordinate activities to avoid unnecessary   diary clashes across the city.
-   Identify occasions when city wide events may be appropriate and facilitate their   organisation.
